Productivity

This week was not the best in terms of productivity. Things happened and I got distracted and lazy and just was not feeling it, and that’s okay! Although I wish I had got more done, I realize it is okay to have bad days or even bad weeks. I know I will be back on track soon. Something I did to get motivated was to embrace the bad day. I ate ice cream and watched my favorite movies. I try to get back to things that I enjoyed in my free time. I went out for walks and went to lay in the sun.

It wasn’t only that I didn’t feel productive with work but just with life in general. I had a burn out, and as much as I hate feeling like I’m not doing anything, maybe I needed it. I like to plan ahead so when things aren’t on schedule I get a little frustrated. I only wrote 2000 words this week and it’s now Saturday when I’m writing this. I feel a bit better with taking the week to myself to wind down and relax. Maybe I’ll write more tomorrow or finish my book by Monday, but I’m gonna try not to put dates on it like I usually do. Next week is a fresh start and I hope to get a lot down while also making time for me to do other things that I enjoy so I’m not feeling overstimulated.

Great Month for Reading

This month has been very productive in the world of writing for me. I have found new ways to reach my writing goals for this year as well as reading goals. This months wrap up, that will be posted and saved to my Instagram highlights, was a great month for reading. I read a lot of fantasy as well as a few romance books.

Reading truly does inspire my writing and makes me that much more excited to hold my novel in my hands. I have created a word count goal that I will have weekly to keep me focused. The main part of this technique is to hold myself accountable. I know life can get busy and dreams and hobbies can get lost in the background. I hope this helps me be less likely to push it aside. I have been working on writing novels for years now and I am so motivated to finally complete them. My outline is roughly ready and I feel more in tune with the story than I have before. Although I am not under a contract I find that treating writing like a second job will help me get the work done.

Next month I have a lot of goals for both writing and in life that I hope to meet. Summer tends to get busy and I’m excited for warmer weather. I think being outside more is only going to help keep my mind fresh.
